What made you want to work at Housing 21?
Initially I joined on a fixed term contract as a project manager with a desire to gain multi-site experience to add to my CV. I liked the working environment and when an opportunity arose as ICT Operations Manager I went for it and here I am!
About my job
I manage a team of 12 staff and, through them, deliver the operational ICT service to the organisation. Every aspect of the service delivery comes under my remit from the data wires in the wall and the WAN infrastructure connecting our 375 locations to the applications that all the staff use on a daily basis.
Have you done other jobs at Housing 21?
IT on Courts Project Manager for 12 months.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Housing 21 is going through a major ICT transformation and this presents huge challenges. I love a challenge and can really feel I am making a difference.
What is it like to work at Housing 21?
I have worked in many different organisations over my 30 year career and I would position Housing 21 as above average as a place to work. The people are great and the working environment is pretty good too. The benefits are a bit dated but that's currently under review and expected to improve.
Where do you see yourself in two years time?
In two years? Much the same as I am now. In three years I will have completed my MBA and will be seeking a senior management role.
