Benefits for care roles

Hourly rates

We offer competitive hourly rates. The rates vary depending on location and premiums are paid for evening and weekend working. If you hold an NVQ qualification at Level 2 or above, or a current nursing qualification, your salary will increase. Rates are reviewed annually.

Hours of work

Flexible and variable, depending on your availability and the needs of the service.

Annual leave

Annual leave and statutory days will be added together and then calculated pro rata to give a total leave entitlement.

Pension

Employees are invited to join Housing 21's Stakeholder Pension Scheme operated by AXA. If you join the scheme, you will be required to contribute a proportion of your salary in to the pension fund. Housing 21 will also contribute to the scheme on your behalf. You can choose between the following two options:

  • Basic Employer contribution - 5%
  • Basic Employee contribution - 3%

Or:

  • Enhanced Employer contribution - 9%
  • Enhanced Employee contribution - 5%

NVQ Training

On successful completion of the probationary period you will undertake training leading to NVQ Level 2 in Care.

Free 24-hour professional counselling and information service is available to you as well as to your family, your partner and those close to you.

Discount scheme

There is affinity scheme for staff, giving access to a range of discounts and special offers, including competitions and financial benefits.

Non-contributory life assurance cover

This is a lump sum benefit of 3 x annual salary, subject to terms and conditions.

Medical cash plan

Option for you to contribute to a group-discounted cash plan which offers a variety of benefits to suit the everyday health needs of both families and individuals.

Family friendly

We have several initiatives including provisions for maternity, paternity, adoption and paternal leave and time off for dependents.
