what our services can offer
It offers opportunities to learn new skills and hobbies or relearn old ones, meet new friends and different people, join in with organised activities and events, and enjoy trips out and visits to places of interest. Meals and refreshments are included and transport arranged if needed.
They offer social contact and stimulating activities for people who are finding difficulty living at home. Day care also enables carers to have a break from their caring.
The centres offer you a safe, comfortable and friendly environment where you can join in activities such as art, discussion groups, gentle exercise, games, music and visiting the hairdresser.
how can it help you
Day care centres give you access to support and advice, and the chance to meet other people. You can get involved in activities that interest you, and develop new skills. If you have a carer, it will give you both a change of routine.
how you can apply
To apply for a day care service you have to receive a community care assessment which looks at your needs. These assessments will be carried out by the social services department in your area. Please remember that the money social services department have available limits the services that can be offered. Some people will have more important needs than others and the assessment process helps us find out whose needs are greatest.
what will it cost
You will be asked to pay for or contribute towards the cost of day care. The amount you pay depends on how much you can afford. Again your social services department will work with you in this area.
