Housing 21 News
For the second year running, two valued members of our staff have won awards at the prestigious Ceretas National Home Care Awards 2008. Valerie Anderson, court manager of Winton Court extra care scheme in Gateshead, and Zoe Mackay, a care worker at Cherry Tree House in the Wirral were presented with their awards by television personality Roy Walker at the gala awards dinner in London on Saturday 31st May. Valerie was presented with the Registered Home Care Manager Award. Her success was attributed to her demonstration that the skills required for the registered manager were outcomes for service users. Zoe received the Home Care Worker of a Specialist Service Award for her dedication, experience and insight into dementia and her passion to ‘enable’ her service users through cognitive therapies. The awards are solely dedicated to the home care sector, promoting best practice within the sector and raising the profile of home care. Sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland and backed by the Department of Health, the awards pay tribute to those people who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
