About us
Services to maintain independence
Central to Housing 21's drive to secure choice and independence for all older people is the continuing development of our care and support services.
Developed over the last ten years, our care services arm, Care Options, currently provides on average 23,912 care hours a week through 33 contracts delivering care for 3,500 people in their homes either in the community or in retirement, extra care or other supported housing. Our approach is valued by commissioners because we are:
- Flexible - we deliver a wide range of generic and specialist services enabling older people to live independently at home.
- Experienced - we have substantial knowledge of transferring council run services into Housing 21 with a thorough understanding and wealth of experience in TUPE.
- Transparent - we operate an open book accounting system and continuously review our costs with the Commissioning Authority in order to use resources more effectively and efficiently.
- Trusted and trained - Housing 21 has an established NVQ centre and is committed to the training and development of all staff.
- Well-respected - the Commission for Social Care Inspection rates our services extremely highly, backed up by sound policies and procedures.
- People-focussed - we carry out regular surveys to understand the views of our services users and we produce a quarterly magazine - Care Focus - to help engage and support our employees.
We offer a diverse range of services including personal and practical care, specialist home care and day care services for people with dementia, specialist care and support services for people with HIV and AIDS and specialist care services for older people from the Asian community. Please see the options above to read further information on our diverse range of services.
