About us
Quality retirement housing
We know that Housing 21's sheltered housing is highly valued by residents not just because it is comfortable and secure accommodation but also because of the improved quality of life that comes from engagement, new friendships, feeling valued and having the peace of mind that support and advice are on hand.
Housing 21's court manager service and our Service Promise go well beyond a housing responsibility. Through these services Housing 21 offers the promise that every Housing 21 resident will have access to a range of support services either via Housing 21 or contacts established by Housing 21. These services include shopping, cleaning, transport, health, social and learning activities and advice on money and benefits.
Housing 21 is proud of the specialist support and training for Court Managers that we provide and which can be directly accessed by residents such as dementia and welfare benefits support through our advisers in these areas.
We are continually modernising and improving facilities in our existing retirement housing to meet longer term needs and ensure sustainability well into the future. Our capital investment team continue to deliver demanding work programmes and we remain on target to achieve Decent Homes 'plus' standards by 2010.
Examples of our work to improve our sheltered housing include the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms which goes well beyond the Decent Homes requirements of repairs and insulation. Another example is in West Sussex where we worked with the district and county council to remodel Burchell Court to provide 52 modern new homes including ten providing extra care.
