David Grayson CBE, Chairman

David Grayson, Chairman Housing 21

 

David is Professor of Corporate Responsibility and Director of the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility at Cranfield School of Management. He is also Chairman of the UK Small Business Consortium; a visiting Senior Fellow at the CSR Initiative of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard; and a Director of Business in the Community.

David has worked across a variety of business sectors, voluntary and charitable organisations and the public sector in roles which in the past included being a Board member of the UK's Strategic Rail Authority, Chair of the National Disability Council, a team member of Microsoft's Small Business Taskforce, Chair of the Business Link Accreditation Board, the Business Link Network Company and the Business Links National Assessment Panel.

Considerable charitable and voluntary work includes: Trustee of the Responsibility in Gambling Trust; an Ambassador for the National AIDS Trust; and a Patron of disability charity, Scope.

David became Chair of Housing 21 in October 2006. Amongst his specific interests in Housing 21 are championing the organisation’s re-definition of  its values; sustainability; and how technological innovations can help tackle social isolation and improve care for and independence of older people.
